Significant changes are being implemented in the public transport sector in Tashkent city. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In particular, it is planned to increase the average speed of buses. According to the presidential decree, buses will move at a speed of 24 km/h instead of the previous 18 km/h.
This innovation will not only save passengers' time but also help reduce traffic congestion on city roads. A comprehensive plan for the development of Tashkent's transport system has been developed until 2030.
Within this plan, it is envisaged to increase the level of public transport usage by the population to 60 percent, build parking lots with a capacity of 150,000 spaces across the capital, and expand the metro network to 103 kilometers. Additionally, a Traffic Management Center will be established in Tashkent.
This center will monitor traffic flows, pedestrian movement, and public transport using modern digital technologies. One of the main tasks of the center is to develop a complete transport master plan for the capital.
Moreover, multi-story parking lots connecting buses and the metro on main roads entering the city, as well as safe parking facilities under the elevated metro lines, are planned to be constructed. According to officials, these changes will significantly ease traffic on Tashkent roads and make public transport stable, fast, and convenient.
The city’s transport system is expected to reach a new level in the coming years. Source: One.uz.
