During the first 11 months of 2023, 10.7 million foreign tourists visited the country. This figure is significantly higher compared to last year, with tourism services exports reaching 4.4 billion US dollars.
Such achievements were made through promoting the country, introducing visa-free regimes, and improving transport infrastructure. Domestic tourism is also rapidly developing.
Within the framework of the "Travel across Uzbekistan" program, citizens made 23.7 million domestic trips. This is even higher than the targets set in the plan.
Tourist infrastructure in the regions is expanding significantly. During the year, 954 new hotels were opened, bringing the total number to 6,861.
Accommodation capacity for guests expanded to 183.9 thousand. In addition, 662 new travel agencies were established, 4,345 guides are active, and 375 new specialists were trained.
As part of support measures aimed at developing tourism, hundreds of sanitary and hygiene facilities were renovated, 421 investment projects were implemented, and more than 6,000 new jobs were created. The year-end results show that tourism is becoming one of the important sectors of Uzbekistan's economy.
