Short-term power outages may occur in some regions of Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Energy, this situation is related to the replacement of a faulty rotor at the Sirdaryo Thermal Power Plant and a decrease in the production capacity of solar power plants. Power outages are mainly expected to occur between 17:00 and 21:00.
If necessary, consumers will be notified in advance. The Ministry emphasized that these measures are being implemented to ensure the stability and safety of the energy supply.
A new rotor manufactured in Japan with a capacity of 1.5 thousand megawatts is planned to be installed at the Sirdaryo Thermal Power Plant. The installation work is expected to take about one month.
To compensate for the lost capacity, reserve sources and newly commissioned energy blocks will be involved. The Sirdaryo TPP was built in 1972 in the city of Shirin, with a total capacity exceeding 3.2 thousand megawatts.
Between 2018 and 2021, six energy blocks at the plant were modernized, each with a capacity of 325 megawatts. These upgrades serve to improve the efficiency of the energy system.
