Starting from April 1, 2026, new financial regulations aimed at increasing economic transparency and reducing cash circulation will be implemented in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These changes will be carried out based on a presidential decree. According to the new rules, payments for certain goods and services must be made exclusively through bank cards or electronic payment systems.
In accordance with this regulation, the use of cash will be prohibited for payments related to government services, utility services (electricity, gas, water), sales of alcohol and tobacco products, automobile fuel, and charging services for electric transport. Additionally, all goods and services valued over 25 million soums, real estate transactions, sales of cars not older than 10 years, and special equipment sales must also be settled only through banks.
As a result of these changes, from 2026 onwards, it will no longer be possible to purchase houses, cars, or other high-value assets with cash. All major financial transactions will be formalized exclusively through the banking system.
These measures are being introduced to further enhance economic transparency and strengthen financial discipline. Source: Zamin.uz
