
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will make an official visit to Tokyo from December 18 to 20 at the invitation of Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During this visit, the head of state is scheduled to hold meetings with the Emperor of Japan Naruhito, the Prime Minister, representatives of the parliament and government, as well as leaders from political and scientific circles. Strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan will be one of the main issues during the visit.
The negotiations will cover expanding cooperation in trade and economic, investment, as well as science and education sectors. In addition, meetings will be held with the heads of major Japanese companies and financial institutions to discuss plans for implementing joint projects.
At the end of the visit, bilateral documents are expected to be signed. Shavkat Mirziyoyev will also participate in the first summit of heads of state in the "Central Asia – Japan" format.
At this summit, issues such as the "green economy," sustainable development, regional cooperation, and human capital development will be discussed. The event is planned to conclude with the adoption of the Tokyo Declaration.
