
The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, invited the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito, to pay an official visit to our country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The President's press service announced this. During the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emperor Naruhito focused on the spiritual closeness of the two peoples.
They emphasized the similarities in mentality, customs, and family values. Additionally, President Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude to the Emperor for supporting the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan.
Issues of cultural and educational cooperation between Tashkent and Tokyo were also discussed. According to information, as of December this year, more than 3,000 Uzbeks have undergone internships in Japan, and over 440 students have studied on scholarships at Japanese universities.
In 2026, exhibitions dedicated to Uzbek culture and history are planned to be organized in Japan. It is worth noting that Naruhito is the 126th Emperor of Japan and ascended the throne in May 2019.
His reign continues under the slogan "Reiwa" — "Beautiful Harmony." The Emperor is also known as an expert in the history and ecology of waterways, particularly water and climate issues.
