
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with Nobumitsu Hayashi, the Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), during his official visit to Tokyo. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During this meeting, issues related to further developing strategic partnership with the bank were discussed. The positive results of cooperation with JBIC were noted during the dialogue.
In particular, it was emphasized that the bank's project portfolio with Uzbekistan has exceeded 5 billion dollars, covering sectors such as petrochemicals, energy, telecommunications, infrastructure, light industry, and others. At the same time, special attention was paid to the development and implementation of new projects worth over 10 billion dollars in priority areas such as energy, transport, information technology infrastructure, and modernization of the healthcare system.
It was also stressed that there is a need to increase the efficiency of ongoing projects. During the negotiations, issues of supporting public-private partnership projects in social sectors and expanding investments aimed at developing the private sector were also of significant importance.
JBIC Governor Nobumitsu Hayashi highly appreciated the results of cooperation with Uzbekistan and expressed readiness to support the reforms being carried out in the New Uzbekistan. Source: zamin.uz
