According to the National Statistics Committee, during this period, 2.7 thousand Uzbeks visited Japan. This figure is 16.2 percent higher compared to the same period last year.
This growth indicates that the Japanese direction is becoming popular among Uzbeks. Most of the trips were made for tourism purposes.
Specifically, 2.2 thousand citizens traveled to Japan for leisure and to get acquainted with the country closely. Additionally, 294 Uzbeks visited to see their relatives, while 137 young people chose Japan for educational purposes.
This situation shows increasing interest in the Japanese education system among the youth. Also, visits by Japanese citizens to Uzbekistan are growing.
During this period, nearly 30 thousand Japanese came to Uzbekistan. This is 41.1 percent more compared to last year.
The majority of them, that is 27.6 thousand, came as tourists to explore our country's historical and cultural heritage. Among the rest, 1.5 thousand Japanese visited relatives, 784 came for work-related reasons, and 71 for educational purposes.
