An international large-scale entertainment project — the construction of a Disneyland-themed park in Uzbekistan is being discussed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This initiative was proposed with the aim of enhancing the country's tourism potential and transforming the region into a modern recreational destination. If the project is implemented, it is expected to become an attractive place not only for local residents but also for foreign tourists.
The issue was thoroughly discussed during a meeting between Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration, and Jaime Washington, Vice President of The Walt Disney Company. During the conversation, opportunities to develop tourism and cultural infrastructure in Uzbekistan in line with the Disney concept were considered.
Additionally, the idea of creating a creative space called Cinema Park was proposed at the meeting to establish favorable conditions for international companies in the country. This space could serve as a modern platform for creators working in the fields of cinema, animation, and digital content.
Furthermore, special attention was paid to the training of local animators, directors, and screenwriters. This will be an important step towards bringing Uzbekistan's film and animation industry to the international market.
The meeting also discussed opening Disney’s Central Asia office in Uzbekistan, as well as launching a special TV channel for children in the Uzbek language. If these plans are realized, they are expected to hold an important place in the country's history.
