
According to the data from the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the birth rate in the country remains high during January–September of this year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During this period, Samarkand region was noted as the leading area in terms of birth rates. According to statistical analyses, over 80 thousand babies were born in Samarkand region in the first nine months of the year.
This result is the highest indicator across the republic. Kashkadarya region took second place with more than 75 thousand births, while Fergana region ranked third with over 74 thousand newborns.
Additionally, Surkhandarya, Andijan, and Namangan regions also maintain high birth rates. In Tashkent region and the capital city of Tashkent, this figure approached 50 thousand.
Relatively lower birth rates were observed in Navoi, Jizzakh, Sirdaryo regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In conclusion, the demographic growth process continues in the country.
