
According to data published by the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the population growth in the country has been steadily continuing during January–September of this year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During this period, the highest number of newborns was recorded in the Samarkand region. According to statistics, 80,903 newborns were born in this area.
In terms of this indicator, Samarkand region holds the leading position. The second place is occupied by Kashkadarya region, where 75,116 newborns were registered.
The third place is taken by Fergana region, with 74,614 new births recorded. Additionally, Surkhandarya region saw 61,128, Andijan region 60,131, and Namangan region 57,881 newborns.
Moreover, Tashkent region recorded 49,007 births, and Tashkent city had 47,703 births. Relatively lower figures were observed in Khorezm region (33,011) and Bukhara region (32,624).
In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 29,523 newborns were registered; in Jizzakh region, 28,484; in Navoi region, 18,594; and in Syrdarya region, 15,879. According to experts, these numbers indicate a steady increase in the population of Uzbekistan.
