On December 26, 2025, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, addressing the parliament and the people, announced a number of important measures to strengthen environmental requirements. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In particular, it is planned to restrict the entry of cars with high harmful gas emissions into Tashkent and regional centers. For this purpose, ecological stickers will be introduced based on international experience.
The government plans to take support measures for owners of old cars. Within this framework, a special fund will be established, and citizens who decide to renew their vehicles will have the opportunity to cover part of the loan interest.
Also, drivers who install filters on their cars to reduce harmful emissions will have part of their expenses reimbursed. The President identified the development of the state transport system as a priority task.
The number of dedicated lanes for buses and taxis on city streets will be increased. Modern smart traffic lights will be installed in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Namangan to effectively manage road traffic.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that a five-year program has been developed to support green vehicles in the country. Under this program, auto loans will be provided with a 12% discount for locally produced electric cars and a 16% discount for foreign electric cars.
For entrepreneurs, 10% preferential loans will be allocated for the construction of charging stations. In addition, land plots for such facilities will be sold at prices twice cheaper than the market rate.
If the electricity price for charging stations exceeds 300 soums per kWh, the excess amount will be covered by the state. These measures are aimed at improving the ecological environment and promoting green transport.
