
By 2026, it is planned to allocate 3.3 trillion soums in Uzbekistan for the implementation of water-saving technologies. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his address to the Oliy Majlis. Within this program, main trunk canals with a total length of 1.3 thousand kilometers will be covered with concrete.
These measures will enable saving an additional 500 million cubic meters of water annually. In addition, open drainage and collectors will be converted to closed systems, new canals will be constructed, and existing ones will be repaired.
In Tashkent city, under a separate program, 150 kilometers of closed drainage systems will be established, 197 kilometers of canals and collectors will be repaired, and 63 kilometers of new canals are planned to be built. These works will contribute to creating a cool microclimate and expanding green areas in the capital.
