Maternity benefits are linked to insurance tenure

A new procedure for calculating pregnancy and childbirth benefits has been introduced in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to these changes, the amount of the benefit will now be determined based on the citizen's insurance experience, and new coefficients will be applied. The new procedure works as follows: if the insurance experience is between 10 and 24 months, the benefit amount will be 75 percent of the average salary.
If the experience is between 25 and 60 months, the benefit is calculated at 85 percent. For those with 61 months or more of experience, the benefit is paid in full, that is, 100 percent.
According to responsible organizations, these changes do not contradict the Labor Code. Because the minimum amount of the benefit is set at least 75 percent of the average salary.
This is aimed at ensuring social protection for workers. Source: Zamin.uz
