The best of the year in Uzbek chess were awarded

On January 10, the Uzbekistan Chess Federation held a press conference dedicated to the results of 2025 and plans for 2026. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At this event, important initiatives aimed at developing chess sports were presented, and athletes and specialists who stood out with their high achievements throughout the year were honored. Javohir Sindorov, who won the FIDE World Cup in 2025, was awarded the title of "Best Chess Player of the Year".
Among women, Umida Omonova, a member of the Uzbekistan national team, was recognized as the best chess player of the year. Additionally, winners were identified in youth and special categories.
Among those under 12 years old, Nurmuhammad Nematillaxonov and Khusnora Khusniddinova were noted as the best chess players of the year, while among those under 20, Afruza Hamdamova and Muhiddin Madaminov were recognized. In the para chess category, Marsel Shoyusupov and Selbi Kakisheva received special recognition.
Honorary chess player Oktam Sheraliyev, best referee Komiljon Azizov, analyst Ulugbek Tillayev, and commentator Anton Kim were also awarded as the most deserving representatives in their respective fields. These achievements are of great importance for enhancing the international prestige of Uzbekistan chess and creating a solid foundation for future successes.
