New regulations on artificial intelligence introduced in Uzbekistan

New regulations on the protection of personal data in the use of artificial intelligence technologies have been introduced in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Ministry of Justice, administrative liability is now established for processing or distributing citizens' personal data without their consent. Under the new rules, individuals who illegally distribute personal data via the internet, mass media, or telecommunications networks may be fined from 20 million 600 thousand to 41 million 200 thousand soums.
In addition, technical devices used in the violation will be confiscated. The legislation also strictly stipulates that important decisions concerning human rights and freedoms cannot be made solely based on conclusions from artificial intelligence systems.
