Avalanche risk announced in mountainous areas

The Uzhydromet service announced that due to precipitation and sharp changes in air temperature expected in the territory of the republic on January 31 and February 1–3, there is a risk of avalanches in mountainous areas. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Under these weather conditions, it is necessary to increase caution when traveling in foothill and mountainous areas. Roads may be slippery, visibility may decrease, and the risk may increase in some places.
The areas with avalanche risk are as follows: Dehqonobod, Kitob, Qamashi, and Shahrisabz districts of Qashqadaryo region; Boysun, Qumqo‘rg‘on, Sariosiyo, and Uzun districts of Surxondaryo region; Nurobod, Qo‘shrabot, Samarqand, and Urgut districts of Samarqand region; Baxmal and Zomin districts of Jizzakh region; Bo‘stonliq, Parkent, and Ohangaron districts of Tashkent region, especially the Chotqol mountain range; Pop district of Namangan region. Specialists urge residents of these areas, travelers to mountainous regions, and especially drivers to remain vigilant.
It is recommended to postpone trips to mountain routes unless necessary, and if traveling, to maintain distance, avoid speeding, and strictly follow official warnings. Such measures are important to ensure human safety.
