177 thousand people died in Uzbekistan in 2025
In Uzbekistan, the number of deaths in 2025 amounted to 177,104 people. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The National Statistics Committee provided this information. This figure increased by 2.7 thousand people compared to 2024.

During the year, 55.1 percent of the deceased were men (97.5 thousand people), and 44.9 percent were women (79.6 thousand people). Additionally, 54.1 percent of deaths were recorded in urban areas (95.7 thousand people), and 45.9 percent in rural areas (81.4 thousand people).

Among the causes of death, diseases of the circulatory system are leading. According to the data, more than 104 thousand citizens died from this cause during 2025.

Also, neoplastic diseases, respiratory system diseases, and various other illnesses contributed to the death cases. By region, Samarkand region ranks first with 19,670 deaths.

Following are Fergana (18,695), Tashkent region (16,984), and Tashkent city (16,926). The lowest figure is in Navoi region, where 4,781 citizens died.

In August 2025, during the event dedicated to Independence Day, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that funds allocated to the healthcare sector have increased sixfold. This serves to improve the population's life expectancy indicators.

For example, in 1991, the average life expectancy was 66.4 years, while by 2024 this figure reached 75.1 years. Uzbekistan plans to increase the average life expectancy to 78 years by 2030.

According to the National Statistics Committee, positive changes have been observed in this area in recent years.
