In Uzbekistan, some payments are made only cashless.

Starting from April 1, 2026, some payments in Uzbekistan will only be made in a cashless form. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The main goal of this decision is to popularize cashless transactions and reduce the share of the shadow economy. The most significant change will be observed at fuel stations.
Accordingly, refueling vehicles and charging electric cars will only be possible through bank cards or electronic payment systems. In other words, it will not be possible to use cash for such services.
This regulation is not limited to refueling only. Payments for electricity, natural gas, drinking water, as well as alcohol and tobacco products will also be accepted only in a cashless form.
In addition, payments for goods and services costing more than 25 million soums will also be made only by card or electronic payment. Furthermore, changes will be introduced to large purchase and sale transactions.
For example, payments for buying or selling real estate objects and certain vehicles that are no older than 10 years will be accepted only in a cashless form. In practice, this means that card or electronic payment applications must always be ready.
Before going to fuel stations, it is necessary to check balances and limits. For large purchases and transactions, money transfers, receipts, and confirmation documents will be properly organized, which will reduce disputes in the future.
In conclusion, important changes will begin from April 1 for those accustomed to cash. Therefore, it is advisable to adapt to the new regulations in advance.
