Special license plates will be introduced for antique cars

There have been some reports regarding the use and re-registration of cars produced in Uzbekistan that are over 50 years old. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
To clarify this issue, the Public Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs provided a statement. According to it, vehicles recognized as antiques are exempt from this procedure.
Antique cars are recognized as vehicles that are 50 years old or older, have preserved their original condition, meaning their exterior, structure, and main parts are intact. According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, new state license plates of the ANT series will be introduced for such cars.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, citizens must apply to the regional road traffic safety departments starting from February 1, 2024, to obtain state license plates for antique vehicles. Specially designated state license plates will be issued for antique cars.
For antique cars owned by legal entities, license plates of types I, IA, IE, or IAE with the ANT series will be assigned. Cars owned by individuals will be provided with license plates of types III, IIIA, IIIE, or IIIAE with the ANT series.
Additionally, license plates of the TTT series are planned to be issued for cars used as unmarked taxis. Thus, cars over 50 years old are not banned at all; on the contrary, if they have preserved their original condition, they will be registered as antiques and allowed to be used with special state license plates.
