A new strategy has been established for the development of Navoi region

At the meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, new strategic tasks aimed at the economic development of Navoi region and the full utilization of its potential were defined. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These plans include determining separate growth directions for each district of the region. From now on, specialization of the areas will be ensured through effective use of natural resources and existing opportunities in the region.
The President proposed to consider each district as a separate driver. For example, the Nurota and G‘ozg‘on areas will be transformed into centers for ornamental stones and tourism destinations.
Tomdi and Uchquduq will form the main power of the mining industry. While the chemical industry and cultural heritage development are planned in Karmana district, Navoi city will be developed as a center for mechanical engineering and modern services.
Additionally, a granite industrial park is planned in Nurota, and an industrial zone worth 100 million dollars will be established in Khatirchi. Special attention is also being paid to the effective use of the region's 9 million hectares of pastures.
Plans include advancing sheep breeding, camel breeding, and horse breeding to a new level in these areas. Based on Chinese experience, combating desertification is expected to bring 3.3 million hectares into agricultural circulation.
Significant changes are also expected in the fields of education and information technology. The "One school – one IT classroom" system will be introduced in Navoi and Zarafshan cities.
Moreover, 100 local teachers will improve their qualifications abroad. At the Zarafshan branch of TATU, specialists in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence will be trained.
In the tourism sector, Navoi region will be developed as a new destination. By 2026, it is planned to attract 600 thousand foreign tourists to the region.
The "Ancient Karmana" center will be established, and measures will be taken to keep tourists traveling to Bukhara in this place for at least one day. Modern recreation centers will be built in the Sarmishsoy area, and Alisher Navoi Park and Yoshlik Lake will be completely renovated.
To develop the region's infrastructure, more than 400 kilometers of drinking and wastewater networks will be renewed. Overall, it is expected that 4.2 billion dollars of investment will be attracted to the region in 2026-2028, creating thousands of new jobs.
As the President emphasized, all these reforms are aimed at improving the living standards of the population. Source: zamin.uz
