4.2 billion dollars will be allocated for the development of Navoi region

At a meeting led by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, important strategic plans were outlined for the development of Navoi region. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These plans aim to fundamentally transform the region in the coming years and lead it to a new stage of economic growth. Each district of the region will be specialized according to its natural resources and capabilities.
The head of state defined growth directions for each district. For example, Nurota and G‘ozg‘on will become centers for the production of decorative stones and tourism destinations.
The mining industry will be developed in Tomdi and Uchquduq. Karmana district will develop as a center for the chemical industry and cultural heritage.
Navoi city will become a center for mechanical engineering and modern services. At the same time, new industrial zones will be established in areas with low industrial volume.
For instance, a granite industrial park will be created in Nurota, and in Khatirchi, an industrial area including projects worth 100 million dollars will be established. Agriculture will be developed through effective management of 9 million hectares of pastures in the region.
Plans are in place to elevate sheep breeding, camel breeding, and horse breeding to a new level. Based on Chinese experience, combating desertification is expected to bring 3.3 million hectares of land into agricultural circulation.
The region is also leading in education and technology. Starting from the new academic year, the “One School – One IT Classroom” program will be implemented.
One hundred local teachers will improve their qualifications abroad. Specialists in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence will be trained at the Zarafshan branch of Tashkent University of Information Technologies.
In the tourism sector, it is planned to attract 600,000 foreign tourists to the region by 2026. The "Ancient Karmana" center will be established, turning this area into an interesting destination for tourists heading to Bukhara.
Modern recreational facilities will be built in the Sarmishsoy area. Alisher Navoi Park and Yoshlik Lake in Navoi city will be completely renovated, becoming favorite leisure spots for residents and visitors.
From 2026 to 2028, more than 400 kilometers of drinking and wastewater networks will be renewed to improve the region’s infrastructure. Overall, it is expected that 4.2 billion dollars of investment will be attracted to the region and thousands of new jobs will be created.
