Tashkent will host the 2026 Asian Grand Prix Backgammon Tournament

Tashkent will host one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world next March. Zamin.uz reported this.
This major competition, named the Asian Grand Prix 2026, is recognized as the largest international tournament in backgammon. The matches will run from March 22 to March 29.
The event is planned to take place at the modern Axelon Center located in the Shayxontohur district of our capital. The world's strongest backgammon masters from Asia and other continents are expected to participate.
This gathering, involving a total of 350 experts, attracts the attention of the sports community. The matches will be held in several different categories and include both short and long backgammon genres.
Players will test their skills in blitz competitions, the Masters Cup dedicated to famous masters, team matches, and a separate women's tournament. Organizers have allocated a total prize fund of $500,000 to ensure the uniqueness of the competition.
This substantial sum will turn the tournament into one of the most valuable and notable backgammon competitions in the region. It represents a great opportunity for both winners and all participants striving for victory.
English has been designated as the official language of the competition, facilitating communication among international players. To participate in the tournament, participants must be at least 16 years old.
That is, athletes born in 2010 or earlier have the right to test their strength in the matches. The registration process is currently ongoing, and all interested parties can register through the official website of the International Backgammon Federation.
By hosting this major event, Tashkent will further develop international cooperation in the field of sports.
