Strict restrictions on cash usage will be introduced in Uzbekistan

According to official sources, from April 1, 2026, strict restrictions on cash usage will be introduced in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From now on, it will be prohibited to pay in cash at fuel stations for gasoline, diesel, propane, methane, as well as for charging electric vehicles, and also for payments for electricity, gas, and water. All payments will only be accepted via card or electronic payment methods.
At the same time, purchases exceeding 25 million soms must be made only through bank transfers. The use of card or electronic payment methods is also mandatory when purchasing cars, housing, and other valuable goods.
This new regulation will create conveniences not only for the population but also for entrepreneurs. It will increase the transparency of economic processes and ensure financial security.
