President Mirziyoyev opened the Center of Islamic Civilization
On March 17, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Center of Islamic Civilization located in Tashkent city. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This center is considered one of the largest complexes in the world dedicated to studying and promoting the history, culture, and civilizations of Islam in terms of area and scope. The center was built on a 10-hectare land area within the famous Hazrati Imam complex in Tashkent.

The building is 161 meters long and 118 meters wide. The height of the dome of the three-story building is 65 meters, and the total usable area exceeds 42 thousand square meters.

These figures serve as a basis for including the center in the "Guinness Book of Records." The center was constructed in accordance with ancient and national architectural traditions.

The building can be accessed from four main portals on four sides. These portals and the exterior facades of the building are decorated with Quranic verses and hadiths, reflecting values such as knowledge, tolerance, humanity, and respect for parents.

On the lower floor, there is a special platform for children, a restoration and electronic copying laboratory, museum exhibits, and funds for preserving rare manuscripts. Additionally, there are modern cafeterias and museum vestibules.

The first floor houses an exhibition hall with an area of approximately 8,350 square meters and a conference hall with 550 seats. On the second floor, there is a library with collections of manuscripts and lithographic sources, printed and electronic literature, as well as study rooms.

Convenient conditions have been created here for international organizations and scientific institutions. The president closely familiarized himself with the conditions created in the center, the rich exhibitions, and new initiatives.

He entered the Quran Karim hall and reviewed the spiritual environment created in this place and the unique exhibits. Under the dome, a special mapping hologram is arranged, where initially the image of the universe is shown and the stars in the sky shine.

The star composition under the dome is based on the map of stars visible in the Tashkent sky at night. To represent them, 90 "Swarovski" stones and more than 650 lights were used.

The center houses 114 rare Quran manuscripts related to our country, created during various dynasties along with the Uthman Mushaf. Among these manuscripts are unique copies from the Samanids, Karakhanids, Ghaznavids, Timurids, Shaybanids, and other periods.

During the visit, the president was informed about the work to organize high-quality services for visitors to the museum. It was emphasized that the center has been highly appreciated by internationally reputable organizations and publications in a short time.

In particular, the center was awarded the Avicenna Prize of France. It was recognized by the "Smithsonian Magazine" of the Smithsonian Institution in the USA as one of the ten museums in the world to be most eagerly anticipated in 2026.

Additionally, the "Condé Nast Traveler" publication included the center among the recommended places to visit in June 2026.
