Mirziyoyev launched billion-dollar projects in Samarkand

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a working visit to Samarkand region and actively participated in the ceremony launching large investment and construction projects in the area. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
At the ceremony, the head of state pressed a symbolic button to officially activate existing projects in Samarkand and start the construction of new projects. These projects are being implemented in cooperation with Austria, China, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, India, and Russia.
A total of 53 major projects worth 2.4 billion dollars were launched. Additionally, construction work began on 53 projects worth 4.6 billion dollars in cooperation with the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, China, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Russia, and Iran.
Once these projects are completed, it is expected that more than 18,000 new jobs will be created, industrial products worth 13 trillion soms will be produced, and export potential of 700 million dollars will be ensured. This will contribute to diversifying the region's industry, expanding modern production chains, and developing export geography.
During the event, an exhibition of products manufactured in the fields of food, light industry, chemical and pharmaceutical, construction materials, metal, and furniture industries was organized in the region. The President closely familiarized himself with the region’s modern production capacities, advanced technologies and equipment, as well as industrial products.
These initiatives are an important step in transforming Samarkand’s economy into a high-tech and export-oriented region. This is of great significance for increasing the region’s economic potential, creating new jobs, and improving the welfare of the people.
