The procedure for certifying physical education teachers has been fundamentally changed.

The procedure for certifying physical education teachers working in general secondary schools of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been fundamentally changed. Zamin.uz reported on this.
This news is presented to our people with the aim of improving education quality and enhancing the professional qualifications of teaching staff. The new system, approved by a joint decision of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the Ministry of Sports, is based on a two-stage assessment method.
This measure is an important step towards implementing the tasks given by our President to further develop physical education classes in schools. According to the new regulations, the certification process will primarily consist of checking theoretical knowledge.
This stage is organized by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education. Teachers will take an exam on their level of deep knowledge in their specialty and familiarity with professional standards.
The written exam consists of a total of forty questions, thirty-five of which concern the specialty subject and five concern professional standards. One point is awarded for each correct answer, so the maximum score at this stage is forty points.
This allows for an accurate and fair assessment of the teacher's theoretical preparation. The second stage is aimed at directly measuring physical skills and is organized by the Ministry of Sports.
During the practical exam, teachers demonstrate their level of physical fitness and the technique for performing exercises in various sports. The standards for physical fitness account for twenty points, while the technique for performing sports exercises accounts for forty points.
Thus, the total maximum score for the practical part reaches sixty points. Through this approach, not only theory but also practical skills are taken into account.
The updated rules will begin to be applied in the certification processes scheduled for the period from August to December of this year. The system will fully come into force starting from the 2025-2026 academic year.
Experts express confidence that this innovation will show not only the teachers' book knowledge but also how they provide quality lessons to students in school conditions. As a result, educators in the field of physical education will feel more professional and prepared.
