Installation of new-generation smart stations has begun in Tashkent

Work has commenced on installing new generation smart bus stops on the streets of Tashkent to make using public transport more convenient and modern. Zamin.uz reports on this matter.
According to the Road Traffic Organization Center, this project aims to facilitate daily life for city residents and enhance safety levels. Each new stop will be equipped with two high-definition video cameras connected to a centralized monitoring system to ensure passenger safety.
Additionally, a special button for calling emergency services in case of emergencies will be installed at designated locations. Special waiting areas will also be organized for people with limited mobility, specifically the elderly and citizens with disabilities.
This will make the process of boarding transport safe and convenient for them. The new stops will also feature large electronic screens providing accurate information on bus arrival times.
Automated vending machines allowing passengers to purchase various quick-service products will also be installed, enabling them to spend their waiting time productively. News about similar projects in the capital had circulated at the end of 2023.
At that time, it was stated that the expansion of bus stops and their equipping with video surveillance systems were planned. Now, this idea is being put into practice.
In the future, these stops will also offer opportunities to charge mobile phones, use free Wi-Fi networks, and accurately view bus arrival times. These innovations will serve to align Tashkent's public transport system with international standards and ensure the free movement of every citizen throughout the city.
