Interest in traveling abroad among Uzbeks has sharply increased.

Since the end of last year and the beginning of 2026, there has been a noticeable sharp increase in the interest of Uzbeks in traveling. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to statistical data, more than one million citizens of our country traveled abroad for tourism and other purposes in January and February. This figure is confirmed by the national statistics committee and shows that a total of one million eight thousand six hundred twelve people traveled abroad.
Compared to the same period last year, this indicator has increased by nearly fifty thousand people. This means that the people's desire to travel is growing year by year and has become a clear trend.
The most notable aspect is that Uzbeks mainly choose countries located in neighboring and nearby regions, rather than distant countries. This allows saving time and financial expenses during travel.
In the first two months of 2026, the list of the most visited countries showed Kyrgyzstan leading. Four hundred twenty-six thousand forty-one people traveled to this country.
The second place is Tajikistan, where seven hundred thirty-three thousand three hundred eighty people traveled. Kazakhstan ranks third, with seven thousand eight hundred forty-seven citizens visiting there.
Currently, religious travels have not lost their significance. Seven thousand three hundred thirty-five people traveled to Saudi Arabia.
This number indicates strong demand for Umrah and Hajj ceremonies. Seven thousand two hundred five people traveled to Russia, and three thousand four hundred six people traveled to Turkey.
Twenty-seven thousand four hundred forty people visited the United Arab Emirates, eleven thousand eight hundred four visited Thailand, and seven thousand seven hundred ninety visited China. Traveling to Egypt is also becoming popular, with seven thousand eight hundred seventy people going there.
In conclusion, Central Asian countries remain the first choice for Uzbeks. However, the increase in religious and cultural travels also indicates that this trend will further develop in the future.
The growth in the number of travelers also testifies to the economic stability in our country and the improvement in the living standards of the population.
