President Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally inspected the construction progress of a modern football stadium being built in Yangi Toshkent on March 24. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This major project is one of the key steps in modernizing Uzbekistan's football infrastructure and preparing for large-scale international tournaments to be held in the future. The renowned Uzdaily publication provided detailed information about this event.

According to official reports, experts managing the construction processes are carrying out work at a very rapid pace. The land allocated for stadium construction has been fully leveled, and foundation laying works have reached 95 percent completion.

Steel structures are being delivered and installed in designated locations according to the plan, step by step. The first stone for this modern facility was laid by the head of state on November 11 last year.

In recent years, Uzbekistan has implemented fundamental changes in the path of developing football. The domestic competition system was reformed, youth academies were opened, and 75 large stadiums and 302 mini-stadiums were constructed.

Additionally, sports grounds in 1500 schools across the country were renovated, enabling over one million students to train under improved conditions. Currently, youth tournaments are being held in an organized manner at the local level, district, regional, and nationwide scales.

The 55,000-seat stadium under construction in Yangi Toshkent is being built in accordance with FIFA's latest standards. This facility will host the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will co-host.

The large complex consists of six floors, featuring more than ten escalators, three training pitches, a metro station, and a parking lot designed for 5,500 vehicles. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the need to pay attention to every technical detail during the construction process and to gradually beautify and green the area surrounding the stadium.
