Citizens of Uzbekistan are sent to seasonal work in Italy

Officials from Uzbekistan and Italy discussed sending Uzbek citizens to seasonal jobs in the agricultural sector of Italy. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The meeting was attended by Behzod Musayev, Head of the Migration Agency; Ibrokhim Abdurahmonov, Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan; Francesco Lollobrigida, Minister of Agriculture of Italy; and representatives of "Confagricoltura". During the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on involving Uzbek workers in Italy's farming sector.
In this regard, the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan signed a cooperation agreement with the Italian association "Associazione Imprese Ortofrutticole". According to the agreement, Uzbek citizens will be sent for seasonal work lasting from three to nine months.
Association President Marco Salvi announced readiness to provide jobs for 100 people in 2026 under a pilot project. This organization unites more than 35 major Italian companies operating in the fruit and vegetable sector.
Its activities cover the entire agricultural chain, from farming to production and export. This creates new opportunities for legal labor migration from Uzbekistan.
