Hydromet service warns of heavy rain and flash flood risk
The Hydrometeorological Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan has issued an urgent warning about a possible increase in flash flood risks in mountainous and foothill regions of our country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

It is stated that due to heavy rains expected on March 26 and from March 28 to 30, the likelihood of flash floods has been clearly identified in several regions of our republic. The list of areas at risk includes the districts of Yakkabog', Dehqonobod, Chiroqchi, Kitob, Shahrisabz, Qamashi, and G'uzor in the Kashkadarya region.

In the Surxondaryo region, caution is required in the districts of Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Sho'rchchi, Qumqo'rg'on, and Muzrobot. The risk also exists in the districts of Urgut, Bulung'ur, Nurobod, Qo'shrabot, Kattaqo'rg'on, Payariq, Jomboy, and Ishtixon, as well as cities in the Samarkand region.

The warning zone includes the districts of Xatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimex, and Karmana in the Navoiy region, as well as the districts of Zomin, Baxmal, G'allaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, and Yangiobod in the Jizzax region. Residents of the Ohangaron, Bo'stonliq, Parkent, Piskent, O'rtachirchiq, and Yuqorichirchiq districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Olmaliq in the Tashkent region, should remain vigilant.

The districts of Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, and Yangiqo'rg'on in the Namangan region, along with the regional center, are also among the hazardous areas. In the Fergana region, flash floods may occur in the So'x, Shohimardon, Farg'ona, and Beshariq districts. In the Andijan region, flash floods are possible in Andijan city and the Asaka, Jalaquduq, Qo'rg'ontepa, Paxtaobod, Izboskan, Xo'jaobod, and Marhamat districts, as well as in the city of Xonabod.

Residents living in mountainous and foothill areas, tourists, and shepherds are urged to take precautionary measures. Due to the potential increase in flash flood risk resulting from accumulated rainwater, the population should remain consistently vigilant, move safely, and be prepared in advance for possible flooding.

Uzgidromet officials are calling on every citizen to maintain calm and adhere to safety rules during emergency situations.
