Green ticket system is introduced and carbon footprint is offset.

A new decree has been signed to further effectively implement our President's Green Space national project. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Based on this document, the Green Ticket system is being introduced to protect nature and encourage the population towards ecological activity. This new innovative mechanism allows passengers to determine the carbon footprint generated during travel by means of transport such as airplanes, trains, metro, and taxis.
At the same time, citizens will be able to fully compensate for the negative environmental impact of their travels by purchasing a Green Ticket. The system is not limited to transport only but also applies to products produced, stored, and sold for both local and foreign markets.
Considering the carbon footprint at all stages from production to logistics of products, buyers can voluntarily offset its environmental impact through the Green Ticket or similar mechanisms. Funds collected from this system will be directed solely towards planting and caring for tree seedlings.
As a result, a direct contribution to maintaining ecological balance will be made. The decree also sets measures to encourage citizens and entrepreneurs who make significant contributions to the project.
For example, individuals who plant at least one hundred tree seedlings or allocate ten million soms or more to the Green Charity Fund will receive the status of eco-active citizen. Entrepreneurs who organize the planting of ten thousand trees or direct more than one hundred million soms to the platform will be awarded the title of Eco-partner.
This status grants them special rights to promote their activities. Also, persons who ensure the planting of no less than fifty thousand trees or donate more than five billion soms will be awarded the title of Patron.
Citizens who build five or more Green Gardens or public parks at their own expense in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions, and the city of Tashkent will be awarded the Builder of the Future state prize. This project requires the participation of each of us in preserving the environment and expanding green spaces.
