Days without cars will be introduced for civil servants

Starting from May 1, 2026, “Car-free day” and “Car-free week” events will be regularly held on the 10th and 25th of every month. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Within the framework of these events, civil servants are strictly prohibited from using official vehicles. This restriction is established by a Presidential decree.
The main goal of these measures is to protect the environment and improve public health by reducing car usage. Additionally, this will increase the efficiency of urban traffic.
Civil servants are required to strictly comply with this rule. They will carry out their official duties using other means of transportation.
This new regulation also serves to encourage the use of public transport. As a result, city streets will be less congested and air pollution will decrease.
Thus, the “Car-free day” and “Car-free week” events are important initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for the population. All citizens are asked to actively participate in these campaigns.
