The number of students in Uzbekistan's schools has reached nearly seven million

According to data provided by the Statistics Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the start of the 2025-2026 academic year, the total number of students studying in general secondary education institutions in our country has reached 6 million 870 thousand 500. Zamin.uz reported this.
This figure shows an increase of 94 thousand 200 compared to the previous academic year. This growth in the education system is closely linked to the younger generation's desire for knowledge and demographic processes in the country.
According to statistical analysis, the gender distribution of school students remains nearly equal. Specifically, boys make up 51.2 percent of students, while girls account for 48.8 percent.
When analyzed by region, Samarkand, Fergana, and Kashkadarya regions lead as the areas with the highest student coverage. Specifically, 814.2 thousand students are studying in Samarkand region, 733.4 thousand in Fergana region, and 688.1 thousand in Kashkadarya region.
Additionally, 634.7 thousand students are studying in Andijan region, 572.8 thousand in Surkhandarya region, 571.3 thousand in Namangan region, 562.1 thousand in Tashkent city, and 547.2 thousand in Tashkent region. In the Republic of Karakalpakstan, there are 375.5 thousand; in Khorezm region, 377.4 thousand; in Bukhara region, 348.4 thousand; in Jizzakh region, 284.6 thousand; and in Navoi region, 195.7 thousand students were recorded.
The lowest figure was observed in Sirdaryo region, where 165.1 thousand students are involved in the educational process. These figures define the scale of reforms being implemented to improve the quality of education and develop school infrastructure across our country.
