Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan discussed ecological cooperation in Bukhara

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, held a meeting in the city of Bukhara on April 11. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the negotiations, the multifaceted cooperation between the two states and urgent issues of regional importance were analyzed in detail. The parties particularly emphasized the importance of working together in the rational use of water resources and environmental protection.
At the meeting, the Uzbek side put forward new initiatives aimed at ensuring ecological stability in the region. In particular, it was proposed to implement the "Clean Air" project, which aims to improve air quality in border areas.
The President of Kazakhstan expressed his full support for this idea, noting that the ecological situation is a serious problem not only for Uzbekistan but also for neighboring states. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that the situation regarding air pollution in Almaty is also severe and emphasized the need to take urgent and practical measures in this regard.
The heads of state believe that implementing the "Clean Air" initiative through cooperation at the government level of the two countries will yield high results. This project will serve to increase the responsibility of local government bodies and business entities in protecting the environment.
Furthermore, this initiative is expected to be positively received by the international community and the public. As a reminder, the President of Kazakhstan arrived in Bukhara for a working visit at the invitation of the leader of Uzbekistan.
The high-ranking guest was personally welcomed at the Bukhara International Airport by Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This meeting held in Bukhara created a strong foundation for further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two brotherly peoples and launching a new stage of cooperation in the field of ecology.
The parties gave specific instructions to the relevant agencies on the implementation of the agreements reached.
