The President familiarized himself with projects on improving the system of training scientific personnel.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with new proposals and projects aimed at fundamentally improving the system of training scientific personnel in our country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
These initiatives, put forward by the head of our state, aim to elevate science to a new level, create suitable conditions for scholars, and increase the effectiveness of scientific research. As one of the main directions of the reforms, special attention is being paid to the issue of material incentives for scientific staff.
In particular, it has been stipulated that the scholarships of doctoral students conducting research in priority areas such as artificial intelligence, green energy, modern medicine, and food security will be increased by more than one and a half times, that is, to seven tenths. At the same time, the task has been set to reduce excessive paperwork and bureaucracy in the field of science by at least fifty percent.
From now on, all procedures related to dissertation defense will be fully digitized. The previous requirements, such as printing numerous documents and preparing abstracts in large copies, will be abolished.
These changes will save researchers’ time and allow them to focus their attention solely on creating scientific innovations. The activity of the Higher Attestation Commission will also be improved, and it will be transferred to the system of the Academy of Sciences.
At the same time, a special rating system will be introduced to evaluate the effectiveness of academic councils. Another important innovation is that obtaining an academic degree will no longer be limited to theoretical research alone.
Within the framework of projects implemented in cooperation with real-sector enterprises, the awarding of academic degrees and the introduction of applied doctoral programs will be launched. This will contribute to the direct application of scientific achievements in production and the achievement of economic efficiency.
Furthermore, to attract our compatriot scientists working abroad to the development of our homeland, it is envisaged to establish an International Scientific Advisory Council. The President gave clear instructions to officials on further improving these proposals and raising the quality of scientific research to the level of international standards.
