Huge steps are being taken to elevate our country's economy, fully realize the economic potential of the regions, and create the most favorable conditions for our compatriots and entrepreneurs. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev closely reviewed a presentation of large-scale promising projects that will bring the country's transport and aviation infrastructure to an entirely new level. In the coming years, unprecedented changes will take place on our roads and in our skies.

We have systematized the most key and interesting projects for you and compiled them in this article. The construction of a new high-speed highway between the cities of Tashkent and Samarkand is expected.

This is wonderful news for those who enjoy traveling from the capital to ancient Samarkand. The presentation reviewed a project for a new alternative road with a length of 282 kilometers.

This modern road will interconnect the Tashkent, Sirdaryo, Jizzakh, and Samarkand regions. The unique features of this road, which will be built to the highest standard, will not leave any traveler indifferent.

The road will be fully cement-concrete paved and will consist of three lanes on each side, totaling six lanes of traffic. The design speed is set at up to 150 kilometers per hour.

Along the highway, 12 transport interchanges, 60 tunnel-type crossings, 91 bridges, and 16 overpasses will be constructed. A smart management system, 12 terminals, and modern weighing stations will be installed along the entire route.

The head of state gave instructions to finalize negotiations with investors and start construction as soon as possible. At the same time, a period of real renewal is beginning in the aviation sector as well.

Currently, seven international airports in the regions are being renovated based on the most modern standards. Pleasingly, new local airports are being built in remote and tourist areas such as Mo'ynoq, Kokand, Zomin, Shahrisabz, Sariosiyo, and Sokh, bringing the total number of air gateways in our country to 18.

Significant economic freedom has also been granted to the airport in the city of Navoi. It can now conclude independent agreements with foreign airlines regarding transit and cargo transportation.

By 2030, the number of flights here will be increased by two and a half times. Most importantly, a special free zone providing technical and commercial services to aircraft will be established within the airport territory.

The project for the magnificent New Tashkent International Airport, which will take shape near the capital, was also a center of attention. This massive complex will have the capacity to accommodate 20 million passengers per year.

A terminal with an area of over 208 thousand square meters, 169 aircraft parking stands, and runways each 4 kilometers long are planned for construction. These projects will fundamentally improve Uzbekistan's transport potential and further enhance its prestige in the international arena.
