New privileges for entrepreneurs in alcohol and tobacco trade are introduced

Significant reliefs are expected to be introduced for entrepreneurs operating in the catering and hotel industry in Uzbekistan. Zamin.uz reported on this.
Special attention was paid to this issue during a presentation held for President Shavkat Mirziyoyev regarding measures to support small business entities. According to the new regulation, it is planned to allow the sale of alcohol and tobacco products for cash in cafes, restaurants, and hotels.
This change has been one of the long-standing urgent issues for representatives of the sector. During the presentation, it was proposed to remove a number of restrictions that have been hindering the development of the catering and tourism sectors.
Specifically, it is envisaged to cancel the requirements regarding the share of non-cash receipts for value-added tax refunds and to significantly simplify the process of registering employees. These measures will reduce the administrative burden on entrepreneurs and create conditions for their free operation.
According to expert analysis, these reforms will provide an impetus for the development of more than six hundred thousand small business entities. Such reliefs in the sector will not only create convenience for entrepreneurs but will also have a positive impact on the state economy.
As a result of increasing the transparency of the tax system, it is estimated that up to an additional two trillion soums will flow into the state budget annually. The head of state approved these proposals and gave specific instructions to the relevant officials to accelerate the simplification and digitalization of tax administration.
At the same time, in order to control large financial flows, the procedure where certain types of payments are made only in non-cash form will be maintained. This will serve to prevent the shadow economy.
