Another important step has been taken toward developing science and education in our country and providing comprehensive support for young scientists and researchers, who are the owners of our future. Zamin.uz reports on this.

From now on, our intellectuals who are passionate about scientific work and making new discoveries will be completely freed from excessive paperwork and outdated bureaucratic barriers. The decree signed by the head of state on improving the system for training and certifying a new generation of scientific personnel is initiating a truly new era in the field.

Below, we provide a detailed explanation of the unprecedented conveniences and fundamental changes created for our compatriots wishing to obtain scientific titles and degrees. In accordance with the Presidential decree, the system for awarding and defending scientific degrees has been fundamentally simplified, and starting from January 1, 2027, a number of old and complex procedures will be completely abolished.

New requirements are being implemented that will save the time and funds of our future academics and scientists, encouraging them to focus solely on genuine science. In particular, the requirement to take a qualifying exam in a foreign language is being eliminated; this rule will be maintained only for independent researchers.

The requirement for the Higher Attestation Commission to register dissertation topics and the mandatory publication of announcements regarding defenses in the mass media have also been removed. Additionally, the obligation to publish a dissertation abstract and the requirement to publish a monograph for the degree of Doctor of Science in the field of social sciences and humanities have been canceled.

Hassles such as re-discussing scientific work at a leading organization and obtaining a mandatory conclusion on the practical application of dissertation results have been put to an end. One of the most important aspects of the new reform is the termination of the chain of repeated checks of defended scientific works by the commission.

The system of conducting scientific expertise of the dissertation by an expert council is being abolished, and the requirement to officially confirm the final decision of the scientific council is being removed. The procedure for recognizing the scientific degrees obtained abroad by foreign specialists has also been significantly simplified.

From now on, the documents of foreign scientists will be recognized directly and without any obstacles during their educational and scientific research activities in Uzbekistan. These changes will serve to attract world-class experienced specialists to our country and elevate the nation's scientific potential.

Such reforms in the path of science will open wide the way for young scientists to work on themselves, fearlessly put forward new ideas, and occupy a worthy place in the international arena.
