Uzbekistan's efforts to join the World Trade Organization have reached a new stage. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

As part of the process of joining this prestigious organization, our country has successfully concluded mutual negotiations with India on market access. The signing of a protocol officially confirming the results of the agreement between the two states was one of the important steps in this regard.

According to Azizbek O'runov, Uzbekistan's chief negotiator on issues of accession to the World Trade Organization, who provided information about this process, a basic agreement on market access conditions was reached at the beginning of this year. However, a certain amount of time was required to coordinate the draft document in all respects, conduct a thorough technical review, and finalize the official processes.

As a result, all terms were formed in a mutually beneficial manner. During the negotiations, the Indian side's specific practical and constructive approach was particularly recognized.

Uzbek representatives expressed their sincere gratitude to the leadership of India and the relevant ministries and agencies for supporting our country's process of integration into the international trade system. It is also appropriate to note the diplomatic contribution of the ambassadors of the two countries in the successful conclusion of this agreement.

Thanks to their efforts, the communication process accelerated and the expected result was achieved. In the coming days, the original copy of the signed protocol will be submitted to the Secretariat of the World Trade Organization.

After that, this document will be included in the general set of documents being prepared for Uzbekistan's membership in the organization. Such bilateral agreements serve to further open the Uzbek economy to the global market.

The process of joining the World Trade Organization requires conducting separate negotiations with every state. Reaching an agreement with a major economic partner like India is the next victory on the path to strengthening Uzbekistan's foreign economic ties and occupying a worthy place in the international community.

Such results accelerate our country's adaptation to international standards and open doors to new opportunities for local producers.
