On July 7, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a presentation on the works, projects, and their results being implemented in the region. According to the head of state, specific measures have been outlined to develop the region and improve the business environment in accordance with the decision adopted on December 2, 2024.
This year, it is planned to attract 4.2 billion dollars in investments to the Namangan region, achieve an export volume of 1 billion dollars, create 323 thousand new jobs, and lift 55 thousand families out of poverty. In the region, 82 percent of the able-bodied population is engaged in small business and entrepreneurship.
Although nearly 1.6 billion dollars have been invested in the region since the beginning of the year, most of these investments are concentrated in central districts and the city of Namangan. Therefore, it was emphasized that there is a need to launch new projects in remote districts and expand export opportunities.
Significant achievements are also being recorded in agriculture. In the New Uzbekistan district, the income from one hectare of land has exceeded 20 thousand dollars, serving as an example for other districts.
As a result of the activities of the "Reforms Headquarters" established on the initiative of the President, another 1 billion dollars' worth of new projects have been formed in the region. Through these projects, more than 12 thousand new jobs will be created, an additional 200 billion soums will be contributed to the budget, and the export volume will increase by 160 million dollars.
Among the new programs, the projects to develop intensive fish farming in the households of the Norin district and to expand duck farming in the Mingbulak district are of particular importance. These initiatives will not only ensure food security but also create thousands of new jobs.
Currently, 55 thousand people are unemployed in the region, and 44 thousand families are living in poverty. The President has given instructions to create new jobs, direct the population to vocational training, and establish a source of income for each household to address these issues.
Additionally, measures to strengthen the social environment and reduce crime in neighborhoods have also been outlined. These efforts will contribute to the sustainable development of the region and help improve the quality of life for the population.
