The option to take the IELTS exam, which has an international language certificate, in paper format has been canceled in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
From now on, this exam can only be taken through a computer. This decision was made to ensure security during the examination process and to increase transparency in the education sector.
Recently, the spread of IELTS exam questions and the increase in cases of obtaining certificates through illegal means have put the reliability of exam results at risk. This is considered contrary to international accreditation requirements.
As emphasized by official operators such as IDP and the British Council, computer-based exams have a higher level of security and control, and results are announced more quickly. This allows candidates to conduct the examination process more efficiently and transparently.
Candidates who previously registered in paper format are offered two options: to change the exam format to computer-based or to receive a full refund of the payment. This opportunity allows candidates to freely exercise their rights and to reschedule their exam preparation process.
Thus, the IELTS exam will better align with quality and security requirements
