A wind power station is planned to be built in the Burchmulla region of Tashkent province. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the regional administration's press service, this project is expected to produce 129.6 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year. An area of 10 hectares has been allocated for construction.
The planned capacity of the station is 20 megawatts. The project cost is estimated to be around 28 million dollars, or approximately 354 billion soums.
The regional administration emphasizes that once the wind power station is operational, it will save 811 thousand cubic meters of natural gas or 3.1 thousand tons of coal annually. Additionally, Uzbekistan has joined the initiative to export "green energy" to European countries.
Azerbaijani and Kazakh energy companies are participating as partners in this project. Electricity will be transmitted via a cable laid through the Black Sea.
This project is considered an ecologically and economically significant step in our country's energy sector
