
At the end of the negotiations held in Baku, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made important decisions at the second meeting of the Supreme Intergovernmental Council. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During this meeting, a number of bilateral documents were signed in the presence of the two heads of state. Among them are a roadmap for implementing allied relations in 2025-2029, an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of environmental protection, as well as an agreement on cooperation in the fields of science, vocational education, and higher education.
Additionally, an industrial cooperation program aimed at 2025-2026 and a program to increase the volume of trade to 1 billion dollars by 2030 were also adopted. A declaration on developing cooperation in agriculture and food supply, a plan of action in the field of social protection, and cooperation in shipbuilding and maritime activities were signed.
Furthermore, agreements were made to establish brotherly relations between Tashkent region and the city of Sumgayit, as well as between the cities of Navoi and Gabala. These documents will serve to further strengthen and develop cooperation between the two countries.
