On July 2, a major traffic jam occurred in the eastern direction of Tashkent city. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Starting from the Food City shopping complex, the line of vehicles extended approximately 7 kilometers through the Qoyliq market along the Fergana Road to the Muxtor Ashrafiy (Risoviy) market. This traffic jam lasted for several hours and once again highlighted the problems in the city's infrastructure.
According to witnesses, some public transport vehicles were forced to cover this distance in two, sometimes even three hours. Interestingly, the special lanes designated for buses on Fergana Road were also not free from the traffic jam.
One passenger mentioned that they left around 9:00 AM and it took them two hours to reach their destination next to the Food City market. According to them, the nerves of the passengers on the bus were frayed, and many were late for work.
As of now, the exact causes of the traffic jam are unknown. Additional information on this issue is expected from the city administration.
