Uzbekistan and Eritrea have established diplomatic relations. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced by Eritrea's permanent mission to the United Nations. On July 11, a joint communiqué was signed to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The document was signed on behalf of Uzbekistan by the permanent representative to the UN, Ulugbek Lapasov, and on behalf of Eritrea by the permanent representative, Sofia Tesfamariam. Eritrea is a country located in the northeastern part of the African continent, on the shores of the Red Sea, bordering Sudan, Ethiopia, and Djibouti.
For Uzbekistan, Eritrea is the 161st country with which diplomatic relations have been established. At the same time, Côte d'Ivoire, located in West Africa, was the 160th country to establish diplomatic relations with Uzbekistan during the past period.
This new cooperation will further strengthen the political and economic ties between the two countries
