In Lopburi city, Thailand, more than a hundred monkeys escaped from their shelter, causing panic among the residents. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In recent days, local people have observed groups of monkeys coming out onto the streets and causing disorder. The monkeys damaged houses and cars, and even caused disturbances around the police station.
This situation alarmed not only the residents but also the local security services. The Lopburi authorities, in cooperation with the National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department, took necessary measures to return the monkeys to the shelter.
Using special methods, most of the animals were captured, but some remained free until nightfall. Currently, officials are investigating the causes of this incident.
It is being determined whether the monkeys opened the cages themselves or if there was human interference. Additionally, shelter staff have begun work on repairing the cages and reinforcing escape routes.
This event in Lopburi has attracted the attention not only of the local population but also of the country's mass media. This is because Thai wild monkeys are considered one of the symbols of tourism in the area, and their loss of control could pose a serious threat.
Therefore, additional measures are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
