President critic in Tunisia sentenced to death
In Tunisia, 56-year-old Saber Shushan was sentenced to death for criticizing the country's president, Kais Saied, on the internet. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This was reported by the Daily Mail publication. According to lawyer Ossam Butaljan, a judge in the city of Nabeul sentenced his client to death due to posts on social media.

The lawyer described this decision as shocking and unprecedented, and stated that an appeal has been filed against the sentence. According to the defender, Saber Shushan is not a political activist but an ordinary worker who was dissatisfied with the president's policies before his arrest.

His brother expressed the opinion, "We are already living in poverty, and now injustice has been added to it. We cannot believe this decision."

The death penalty is rarely applied in Tunisia and has not been carried out in the last 30 years. Nevertheless, this sentence has caused widespread outrage and debates on social media.

Many citizens and human rights defenders view this decision as an attempt to intimidate political critics. Additionally, in May of this year, the famous lawyer Ruth Eleonora Lopes, who criticized President Nayib Bukele in El Salvador, was also arrested.

These events are making the issue of criticizing state leaders and freedom of speech on social media even more relevant worldwide.
