With the approach of the winter season, Ukraine's energy system has faced a new challenge. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Russian military forces carried out another attack on the coal enrichment plant owned by the "DTEK Energo" company, according to the company's press service. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out at the plant, part of the buildings were destroyed, and technological equipment suffered serious damage.
There were no casualties as employees took shelter in time. According to information, this is the third major attack on the plant in the last six weeks.
The previous strikes were recorded on August 26 and September 8. According to the company, due to the frontline approaching and the threat to employee safety, the plant, which supplied coal to Ukraine's thermal power plants, was forced to temporarily suspend its operations.
Currently, the plant has completely lost its production capacity, and the main equipment has become inoperable. This situation may negatively affect the stable operation of the energy system during the winter season.
Therefore, officials plan to quickly stabilize the situation and take measures to eliminate the damage.
